Seasonal Highlights on the Mountain

Spring
March through May
Watch the mountain come alive as wildflowers blanket the meadows and newborn farm animals arrive on the property. Spring is the perfect season for creek walks, trail hikes along the Appalachian foothills, and cool evenings around the fire pit. The mild temperatures make it ideal for families with young kids who want to spend every minute outside.

Summer
June through August
Long golden days, blackberry picking along the fence lines, and warm afternoons wading in the creek. Summer at Pride's Mountain means farm life at its fullest. The kids can spend the morning with the goats and donkeys, and you can spend the evening soaking in the hot tub watching the sun drop behind the ridgeline. It's also the best season for exploring nearby trails, the New River Gorge, and the Cascades waterfall.

Fall
September through November
Pride's Mountain sits at the heart of some of the best fall foliage Virginia has to offer. The mountaintop views during leaf peeping season are unmatched, with 360 degrees of color stretching across the Appalachian ridges. October is our most popular month for a reason. Pair a scenic drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway with a cozy evening by the fireplace and you've got the perfect autumn weekend getaway in Virginia.

Winter
December through February
When the temperatures drop, the mountain gets quiet in the best way. Winter at Pride's Mountain is for couples looking for a romantic retreat and anyone who needs to truly disconnect. Curl up by the electric fireplace in the guest house, bundle up for a crisp morning hike, and enjoy night skies so clear you can see the Milky Way. Our campers close for the winter months, but the guest house stays open year-round. If you're searching for cozy winter resorts or a ski lodge alternative near I-77, this is your place.
