The Mountain Guest House — A Secluded Virginia Cabin Built by Hand
The Mountain Guest House at Pride's Mountain is a 1,100-square-foot secluded Virginia mountain cabin perched on 66 acres of working farmland in Bastian, VA. Two private bedrooms, two full baths, a full kitchen, and 360-degree Appalachian views — built by Amish craftsmen using cedar and black walnut milled from the land itself. It's a genuine mountain lodge, not a resort imitation of one.

Inside the Mountain Lodge
This isn't prefab. The Guest House was built by Amish craftsmen using cedar and black walnut lumber harvested and milled right here on Pride's Mountain. The main farmhouse it's attached to sits on a foundation of hand-pulled mountain stone, with an 1840s reclaimed Old Virginia brick fireplace at its heart. That same craftsmanship carries into every corner of your stay.
Two private bedrooms
Two separate bedrooms give families or small groups real sleeping privacy — not the shared-loft trade-off most cabin rentals force on you.
Two full bathrooms
Both bathrooms are full, not halves. No morning queue.
Fully equipped kitchen
Cook breakfast with a mountain view. The kitchen is full-size — not a kitchenette — with everything you need for a multi-day stay.
Electric fireplace
A cozy electric fireplace anchors the living space for cool Virginia mountain evenings.

Book Direct on Pride's MountainCommon Questions About the Guest House
How is the Guest House different from the Scenic Campers?
The Guest House is our premium option — 1,100 square feet of fully-built mountain lodge with two separate bedrooms, two full baths, and a full kitchen. The Scenic Campers are our budget-friendly, more rugged option for families who want authentic farm immersion without the price tag. See the Scenic Campers →
Is the Guest House pet-friendly?
Unfortunately, no. CJ has her own dogs who roam the farm, so we can't welcome outside pets during your stay. If you normally travel with a dog, we recommend a pet-sitter for your visit — we're happy to suggest local options.
Can I walk around the farm during my stay?
Yes. The 66 acres are part of the experience. Wander the trails, wade in the creek, pick blackberries in season, and meet the animals. We'll point you to the best spots at check-in.
How early can I check in and how late can I check out?
Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Ask us ahead of time if you need flexibility — we do our best to accommodate.
